Poems for Broken Screens

Poems for Broken Screens is a transmedia performance art project spanning multiple genres and disciplines. It is an adventurous expression of 21st century poetry, broadly interpreted: the poem as sound, as image, as movement, as media. This ambitious project is an avant-garde interpretation of poetic forms translated through technology and experimental performance.

This performance features Hilly Holsonback and Abel Flores, along with Patrick Murphy on synthesizers and samplers, plus guest artists including local legend Paul Slavens on keys and young talent Kit Presley performing improvisational vocals.

As always, the Therefore experience will include compelling performance art, live video art, projections, and immersive sound.

Therefore is a transmedia art and performance group directed by Dean Terry. It began as a music recording project in the 1990’s (v1) and became a performance art group in 2016 (v2). Therefore creates challenging art and performance experiences incorporating live video, sound, electronic music, and performance art. The roots of our work are in performance, dada, happenings, conceptual art, experimental music, and poetry. In 2018 Therefore sold out three nights at AT&T Performing Arts Center Hamon Hall for The Alexa Dialogues.
