The Business Council for the Arts’ Leadership Arts Institute, in partnership with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA) and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) is excited to announce ART BOOST DALLAS, an upcoming conference for emerging, prospective, and established artists who are interested in learning about the intersection of visual arts and business to elevate their careers. This half-day conference will feature engaging and educational programming that aims to provide artists with practical tools they need to turn their craft into a sustainable career. Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA) will have staff attorneys on-site to answer personal art legal questions for artists.

Free onsite parking in Lexus Silver will be provided for all ticket buyers.

Marketing Your Art: Why Do I Need an Instagram Account?
How do you get the word out so the right people know how to find you and buy all your great artwork?! This info-packed session will help you build your artistic brand (beyond your personal brand). You’ll get the how to’s and the why’s of developing, marketing, and growing your brand so you can get noticed more easily. Walk away with the tips you need to move your artistic brand to the next level through your targeted/ focused social media presence!

Up Schitt’s Creek Without a Paddle: Legal Protections and Emergency Aid for Artists
If you are an artist, you must know the very basics about protecting your artwork and work for hire laws to have a successful career. This session will empower you with confidence in protecting your artwork and discuss different legal, accounting, and financial services available to help navigate through stressful times and situations.

Show Me The Money: Grants and Selling Your Work
You’ve created the art – now what do you do with it?! This powerful session will be focused on understanding how to and resources for selling your work to private collections, corporate collections, cities / public art, and more. And then how to get grants for creating more artwork!

About Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts:
TALA services include lawyer and accountant pro bono assistance for artists, patent pro bono assistance for inventors, and educational programs for the artistic and business communities. Programs are designed to build capacity, establish long term business skills, protect intellectual property, advance careers, and develop sustainable income. TALA believes that individuals, regardless of income, should have access to business knowledge and advice to further a career in the creative industries.

About Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation:
Through its grants program, the DAYL Foundation provides funding for law-related matters to local nonprofit organizations, as well as scholarships for law students who have demonstrated a passion for community service. To date, the DAYL Foundation has provided over $300,000 in grants and scholarships.
