A traditional Bharatanatyam (Indian classical dance form) repertoire is called a Margam. This framework was created in South India in the early 19th century. It is a well-thoughtout plan to approach a dance performance in Bharatanatyam. Margam, literally means a path. The sequence of dances in the Margam are set to facilitate the physical and spiritual journey towards self-discovery.
