Dallas Black Dance Theatre brings its energetic dance artistry to the Ailey Citigroup stage with three New York premieres. Experience the graceful elegance and breathtaking physicality of this mesmerizing dance company as it presents new works from its vast repertoire to New York audiences.

From dancing with Madonna and Cher, Jamal Story choreographs a gravity-defying aerial duet for DBDT’s powerful dancers. What to Say? tells the unrequited love story centered around the Greek myth of Echo and Narcissus set to the music of Dinah Washington.

Princess Grace Foundation Award recipient Bridget L. Moore’s new work Unearthed exposes the emotion and strength of motherhood and loss.

Furtherance, choreographed by former Alvin Ailey dancer Kirven Douthit-Boyd, takes the audience on a journey from anguish to bliss amid the backdrop of a Japanese taiko drum musical score.

Returning to New York is an encore presentation of Instinct 11.1, a dance that captures the essence and strength of Denise Jefferson. Francesca Harper created the work in honor of her mother who was the director of The Ailey School from 1984 until her death in 2010.
