Part radical, part provocateur, and part legend – Eric Bogosian is the kind of performer who’s hard to catch live, but he’s making an exclusive exception for North Texas. Since 2001, Bogosian has rarely ventured outside of New York to perform, but he’s bringing his very special brand of subversive drama to Dallas for a one-of-a-kind theatrical event.

Considered by many to be a revolutionary in the downtown NYC theater movement of the 70s, he burst onto the scene with solo plays filled with spellbinding monologues of coarse characters and social commentary that earned him three Obie awards. He went on to write several plays including the Pulitzer Prize nominated Talk Radio which would later be turned into an award winning film by Oliver Stone. No stranger to screens big or small, Bogosian has been featured in movies with directors like Woody Allen, Robert Altman and Taylor Hackford before earning adoration for his long-running role on Law and Order. Bogosian is also an accomplished author and intellectual who has just released a critically acclaimed nonfiction volume about Armenian Genocide (Operation Nemesis). Oh, did we mention he founded a dance series? He’s a Renaissance man you can see in the here-and-now, only at the Center’s Off Broadway series.

Between 1980 and 2000, Bogosian created six major solo shows that had extended runs Off-Broadway. Each show featured a dozen or so high-energy character monologues, stretching from the New York streets to the backyards of suburbia. In all, Bogosian wrote some hundred monologues during that period. For his Dallas appearances, Bogosian will deliver four evenings of his favorite monologues, with each night will featuring a varied selection of monologues from the repertory. Buy your tickets today!
