New Play University

New Play University is your backstage pass to the new work at Dallas Theater Center. A unique five-month experience, New Play University takes enrolled participants on a behind-the-scenes journey through all stages of the new play development process—from the first rehearsal to the final performance. Participants will be invited to: A script reading bootcamp; Discussions with the creative team; Rehearsals, including first rehearsals and technical rehearsals and Performances of Deferred Action. Most New Play University events are on nights and weekends.
