Ever dreamed of Africa? Visit without ever leaving Dallas through DBDT’s DanceAfrica. Celebrate rhythms ancient and new with all five of DBDT’s performing companies and the return of festival founder, Dr. Baba Chuck Davis. Atlanta’s internationally renowned, all female Giwayen Mata will perform African dance, percussion and vocals. Audience favorite Bandon Koro Drum and Dance Ensemble return with their captivating, high energy and explosive presentation. Booker T. Washington HSPVA’s talented World Ensemble dance troupe also performs.


Saturday, October 3, 2015 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in Annette Strauss Square

Experience local African dance and drumming at the FREE festival. Vendors lining the square will offer an assortment of crafts, and fashion. The festival will also feature entertainment for families with face painting, games and crafts. Professional and community dance and drumming troupes will perform on the main stage throughout the day.
