ARTS DISTRICT BEATS OUT NYC, CHICAGO FOR BEST U.S. ARCHITECTURE

Posted on

According to CityLab, a division of The Atlantic that “is dedicated to the people who are creating the cities of the future,” the Dallas Arts District is the densest area of exceptional architecture in the nation – beating out some of the nation’s largest urban centers.

CityLab author Kriston Capps says, “If you look past the nation’s tallest and most spectacular designs and focus on the sheer concentration of great design, you’ll find that there is no place that packs in better design than the city’s Arts District.”

Capps goes on to praise the award-winning architects responsible for the Arts District, and includes specific praise for the Center’s Wyly Theatre and Winspear Opera House. “No other geographic area in the nation this small can brag on as much architecture by architects who have received the top honors in their fields,” says Capps.

The Center is proud to play a role in the beauty of the Arts District, bringing almost 400,000 people annually to visit the pristine performances spaces that host North Texas’ highest-quality artistic performances.
