June 27 – July 7, 2019 Winspear Opera House

2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201

The streets are heating up as young, rebellious leader Strat falls in love with Raven, the beautiful daughter of the most powerful man in post-apocalyptic Obsidian.

Winner of Best Musical at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2017 and nominated for 8 WhatsOnStage awards in 2018, Jim Steinman’s smash-hit musical Bat Out of Hell returns to London at the iconic Dominion Theatre!

Originally written as a musical, BAT OUT OF HELL went on to become one of the most iconic and successful albums of all time. 40 years later, Jim Steinman’s critically acclaimed love story for the ages ‘brings the theatre and its audience thrillingly alive’ (The Stage).

Although Jim Steinman began in theatre, he is best known as a songwriter/producer whose records have sold more than 200,000,000 million copies worldwide. The L.A. Times described him as “the Richard Wagner of rock.” At Amherst College he wrote and starred in an epic musical called The Dream Engine. It caused a sensation and N.Y. Shakespeare Festival’s Joe Papp bought the rights at intermission. His first professional musical was More Than You Deserve at Papp’s Public Theatre, where he worked for five years.

When a singer named Meat Loaf auditioned for him, Spin Magazine called the meeting “one of the top ten most important moments in the history of rock and roll.”
