His breathtaking images have been featured in 18 National Geographic stories. Cornell University ornithologist Ed Scholes has been conducting field research on the birds of paradise for more than 10 years. In a stunning presentation tied to their book Birds of Paradise Revealed, these intrepid scientists unveil all 39 species in remarkable photographs and videos—including their colorful plumage, secret lives, bizarre displays and dazzling courtship antics.
