The 20th annual gala benefit concert for SMU Meadows will showcase the critically acclaimed Meadows Symphony Orchestra and Meadows Dance Ensemble in a 100th anniversary presentation of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. Almost no other musical score has had such a powerful influence or aroused as much controversy; the provocative work touched off a riot at its Paris premiere in 1913!
This artistic concert aims to not only challenge SMU’s students but to challenge the audience as well. Proceeds from Meadows at the Winspear will provide scholarships for the Meadows Scholars program, aimed at recruiting the brightest and most talented students to SMU and Dallas.
