Expect the Unexpected

Shibuya Blues

Belgian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa explores the yearning for connection in today’s fast-paced world. Ranging in mood from exhilarating to pensive, Shibuya Blues powerfully examines modern life – and modern dance.

Lamentation Variations

Inspired by legendary choreographer Martha Graham’s wrenching elegy in movement, Lamentation, three distinctive guest choreographers have created their own interpretations as part of the Graham Trust’s continuing commemoration of the tragedy of 9/11.

Maple Leaf Rag

Among Martha Graham’s last works and set to the music of Scott Joplin, the exuberance and whimsy of Maple Leaf Rag will thrill audiences of all ages.

Jabula

Australian choreographer Natalie Weir’s Jabula celebrates motion and dance through a vibrant combination of choral, percussion, and traditional African music.
